Architecture competition :
A HOUSE CONSTRUCTION
ON ILE D'OLERON
The house project of Fabrice and Sabine is, at the same time, demanding and pragmatic. Without pretension, the look of the house will have to reflect its uses: the setting of simple pleasures.
According to the family's way of life, the project will have to be resilient and constructively intelligent to reduce its carbon footprint and consumption of natural resources. Wherever relevant, choices should be made to preserve the environment.
The family has had the opportunity to discuss this house at length. They are sharing their specifications, so that the candidates feel free to propose, to design, in order to be surprised by their audacity without sacrificing the comfort of their daily life.
The project is at the same time that of a warm family house, where one will receive families, friends, children, friends of the children; of a house for weekends and long vacations; of a house where remote work will be fine; of a minimalist house cleverly disordered; where everyone will be able to be quiet, not far from the general agitation.
The challenge is precisely to find the right balance between comfortable and compact spaces, a bold and sober design, a spacious, unpretentious house, a generous amount of light without environmental sacrifice, a functional house with the charm of the vernacular architecture.
